AI & Data Disclosure
Effective date: [TBD — counsel to confirm]
waliFit uses a mix of on-device features, waliFit servers, and third-party AI providers. This page explains what stays on your device, what is sent to AI providers, and what is stored by waliFit.
On Device
These features run on your phone before sync or without sending the raw activity to an AI provider:
- Active GPS capture during WaliRun before the run is saved.
- Rest timer.
- Vitality Tree display state, streak display, and local cache.
- Exercise library browsing.
- Offline workout and nutrition logging queue.
- Basic app preferences and cached screens.
Some on-device data may sync to waliFit servers when you save, reconnect, or use account-based features.
Sent to Anthropic (Claude)
Used for complex Wali AI coaching and training-plan tasks:
- Wali AI chat messages.
- Program Architect prompts.
- Recent workout history, run history, training goals, schedule, equipment, your current body weight, your age (estimated from the birth year you enter, used for training context such as heart-rate ranges), injuries or other limitations you have entered, and nutrition context needed to answer your request.
- Journal entries and mood selections when they are sent to background sentiment analysis used to update your coaching context.
- AI-derived coaching facts and importance-scored memory used to personalize responses.
- Active daily TRE status when fasting tracking is visible and relevant to your request.
- Safety-relevant context, such as pain or injury words you choose to send in a message.
Anthropic responses may be wrong or incomplete. Do not use Wali AI for diagnosis, treatment, medication decisions, injury clearance, or emergency guidance.
Sent to Google (Gemini)
Used for parsing and lower-complexity AI tasks:
- Nutrition parsing.
- Food photos when photo-based nutrition features are enabled.
- Workout or fitness-app screenshots when you choose import features.
- Simple Wali AI questions that do not require complex coaching, including the same training context that may be sent to Anthropic.
- Journal entries and mood selections when they are sent to background sentiment analysis used to update your coaching context.
- Active daily TRE status when fasting tracking is visible and relevant to a simple coaching question.
- Onboarding import data when you choose to upload screenshots.
Google AI responses or parsed results may be wrong. Review imported or parsed data before relying on it.
Sent to waliFit Servers
Stored and processed by waliFit to operate your account and sync features:
- Account profile, settings, legal acceptance timestamps, and AI training opt-out preference.
- Workout logs, run logs, nutrition logs, optional daily TRE session logs, rest timer settings, calendar entries, and Vitality Tree data.
- Wali AI messages, AI routing metadata, and generated coaching records needed to show your history and improve safety.
- Group activity, leaderboards, PR feed activity, run club activity, friends, and messages.
- Data export, account deletion, support, security, diagnostic, and crash-related records.
Fasting Tracking Boundary
Optional fasting tracking records daily time-restricted eating windows for adults. V1 does not provide extended or multi-day fasting plans. Users can hide fasting tracking in Settings, which removes active TRE status from Wali context and fasting displays.
AI Training and Memory Opt-Out
Opt out of AI training and long-term memory. When this is on, waliFit does not use your content to improve waliFit's AI prompts, evaluations, or datasets, and does not derive or store long-term coaching memory — facts, tone, or summaries — from your chats.
To answer a request you make, Wali AI still sends the training context needed to respond — such as your recent history, goals, and limitations — to the third-party AI provider. This processing is necessary to provide the feature you asked for.
The setting does not control how third-party AI providers process the message you send under their own terms, and it does not stop processing needed for security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance.
Limits of Wali AI
Wali AI can help with training ideas, workout structure, general fitness education, habit reflection, and plan adjustments. It cannot:
- Diagnose injuries, illnesses, or medical conditions.
- Tell you whether pain is safe to train through.
- Prescribe, stop, or adjust medications.
- Replace a doctor, physical therapist, registered dietitian, coach, or emergency service.
- Guarantee results, personal records, weight loss, muscle gain, or injury prevention.
- Reliably detect every unsafe request or incorrect answer.
Emergency and Injury Boundary
If you have chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, sudden weakness, severe pain, signs of heat illness, a possible fracture, head injury, or any urgent concern, stop using the app and contact emergency services or a qualified professional.
